Dear parents and guardians,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Anita N. Wilson. I am a native of Lancaster, SC. I completed my masters degree in early childhood education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. This is my fourth year as a lower elementary teacher. I previously taught in Chester county, have completed various internships, and have field experience working with children in grades kindergarten, second, and third. In the summer of 2013, I spent a month in China teaching English and American Culture while learning about the lifestyle and educational practices of the citizens of the country.
I am so excited about working with your child this year. My philosophy on education is that although all children do not learn through the same style or at the same pace, the fact is that all children are capable of learning. As part of the Montessori philosophy, I guide students in becoming independent not only in decisions related to academics, but also in everyday tasks. I ask that you assist me in fostering this independence by allowing your child opportunities to practice self reliance at home. Please give me at least three weeks to learn about your child’s academic and social behavior. This time frame will also allow your child to learn and adjust to a new classroom and the expectations.
You are welcome to visit the classroom, contact me at school at (803) 981-1380, or email me at [email protected]. If there is any information that you would like for me to know about your child, please share via email or a note. I look forward to working with you and your child to make this a successful school year.
Sincerely,
Anita N. Wilson
